This kitchen transformation was part of a wider development project of a family home in Chelsea. Working within the constraints of the interior designer’s vision for the colour palette for this room, Bennie designed a beautiful kitchen using a variety of materials and finishes that all stand out in their own way but that are balanced carefully to ensure that none are overbearing or detract from the subtle tones in use throughout the house. The kitchen offered an exciting opportunity to incorporate a new bulthaup material, Oak Structure, into the design. The bench in a smooth oak veneer is offset against wall panels in the structured oak, both in a natural grey veneer, creating a more vivid space without the need of incorporating an additional material or colour into the room. The design skilfully and seamlessly combines some of the multitude of materials available to the kitchen designer, glass, laminate and wood, creating a kitchen with a timeless and elegant quality. Using b3 furniture, quartzstone worktops and Gaggenau appliances, the resulting kitchen is the perfect space for a family to relax and entertain in.
