Ainhoa Bilbao Designer

Award-winning designer Ainhoa joined bulthaup in 2004 on completion of a Masters in Industrial Design at Central Saint Martin's College. This followed a degree in architecture in Caracas Venezuela.

Her passion for high quality design, ability to innovatively fuse form-function and precision with client wishes saw her named Kitchen Designer of the Year in both 2008 and 2010 by Designer Magazine.

Ainhoa's personal style has been cultured by her architecture and industrial design background, architects and artists  like Tadao Ando, Peter Zumthor, Mies van de Rohe, as well as Eduardo Chillida, Oteiza, are key elements on her development, adding to this her quest of exploring new materials and textures as sources of inspiration.

Looking to the future, Ainhoa sees kitchen design being deconstructed to embrace the new needs, multi-functionality, creating spaces optimised to support multiple activities.  For now, Ainhoa's enthusiasm for good design and her ability to tease out and understand the clients' own vision leading it to completion is a strength that should lead to further recognition.
